LOUISVILLE, Ky. (UPDATED September 4, 2026) – The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, The James Cancer Center, and OSU affiliated physicians have reached an agreement to remain in-network for Humana Medicaid and Group Medicare, effective immediately.

The agreement preserves in-network access for Humana Medicaid and Group Medicare members in 2026 and 2027. The Ohio State University facilities will be considered out-of-network for individual Medicare Advantage members, effective October 1, 2026.

Q: Is The Ohio State University (OSU) in-network for Humana members?
A: Humana Medicaid and Group Medicare members have in-network access to The Ohio State University facilities. The Ohio State University facilities will remain out-of-network for individual Medicare members. For individual Medicare members, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, The James Cancer Center, and OSU affiliated physicians are affected by this change.
Q: What support is available to Humana individual Medicare members?
Humana individual Medicare members are receiving continuity of care support, which includes personalized assistance to transition to other in-network providers. Members with certain medical conditions may qualify members to continue receiving treatment from their provider and to be covered by Humana at the same in-network level of benefits for a specific period. Our customer service department is available using the toll-free number on the back of member’s ID card from 8 a. m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Q: Where should individual Medicare members go if there is a medical emergency?
A: If an emergency happens, Humana Medicare members should always go to the closest hospital. These emergency services will be covered at the in-network benefit level, regardless of whether the hospital participates in Humana’s network.
