Humana and Carda Health Partner to Expand Access to Virtual Cardiac Rehabilitation

Humana today announced a program with Carda Health, a leader in at-home virtual pulmonary and cardiac care, to expand access to virtual cardiac rehabilitation. This strategic collaboration aims to remove barriers to care, offering a convenient and effective solution for patients recovering from adverse heart conditions.

Driven by care coordination between both parties, this initiative includes clinically supervised exercise sessions, functional capacity assessments, educational resources, and wellness support, all delivered through individualized care plans within the home setting.

“We are leveraging technology to meet patients where they are,” said Dr. Alex Ding, Humana Deputy Chief Medical Officer. “Our collaboration with Carda Health is helping to remove barriers and improve access to life-changing cardiac rehabilitation for our members.”

By integrating virtual care with coordinated support, the program aims to address barriers such as transportation, local facility access, and scheduling constraints.

“Cardiac rehabilitation makes a meaningful difference in helping patients recover and avoid returning to the hospital, but most face obstacles that prevent them from completing traditional, in-person programs,” said Harry DiFrancesco, CEO and Co-founder of Carda Health. “Our mission is to help millions of Americans recover from heart and lung disease. We are proud to work with Humana to deliver our services to their members and to help patients get back to the lives they wish to live after a severe cardiovascular event or diagnosis.”
