Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “The time is always right to do what is right.”
Caring for our seniors begins with caring for ourselves. To focus on health equity, we begin with an inclusive and diverse workforce where each individual is able to care for themselves and be fully present to care for our members.
“A holistic approach to our inclusion and diversity efforts really starts at the heart first around belonging,” said Carolyn Tandy, Humana’s SVP and Chief Inclusion and Diversity Officer, “making sure that each person, no matter where they are in the organization, is able to bring their whole selves to work.”
“We’ve done great work in the past, but this is about us being able to say that we have not done enough,” said Carolyn. “We can’t just say we’re on the right track. We need the community also saying we’re on the right track. That’s how we get to innovation.”
Innovation in healthcare and whole-person health require commitment to listening to our members and our employees. Visit our Impact Report to learn more about Humana’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
