Intergenerational Month: Culture of Respect and Individual Value

When were you born and how does that shape who you are today? For the first time in history, there are five generations working together in the workplace. Each generation grew up in a different time that shaped their various experiences, expectations, behaviors and characteristics due to differences in demographics, attitudes, historical events, popular culture and more.

An exciting outcome of these differences is that we each have much to bring to the table which complements the skills and experiences of our colleagues.

Intergenerational Month is a global movement celebrating the many benefits of relationships that reach beyond generations. We asked leadership members of GenUs, Humana’s multi-generational Network Resource Group (NRG), to share the impact GenUs has on the culture of respect and collaboration at Humana.

Meet Yasmin Kashfipour, Senior Culture and Engagement Professional, GenUs NRG Member Experience Co-Chair, and self-proclaimed Millennial. Yasmin is inspired that GenUs has a strong impact on the culture at Humana by providing a space where every generation is celebrated and valued.
