Humana Sponsors DiversityInc’s Women of Color and Their Allies Conference

Women of Color and Their Allies

Humana will sponsor the 5th annual DiversityInc Women of Color and Their Allies conference in Louisville, Ky., at the Muhammad Ali Center on September 21, 2022, marking the first time that the conference has been held outside of Atlanta, Ga. The event brings executives, thought leaders and researchers together to address the challenges women of color face in corporate America. This year’s conference will focus on “avoiding regrettable loss in the talent pipeline,” offering strategies on elevating the contributions of a diverse workforce by creating and maintaining healthy environments for women of color.

Three Humana leaders will take part in the panels offered during the conference. Carolyn Tandy, Chief Inclusion and Diversity Officer, will kick off the conference in a welcome session with Carolynn Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of DiversityInc. Sue Schick, Segment President, Group & Military Businesses, will participate in a panel on Executive Leaders' Allyship of Women of Color. During this session, Schick will discuss the strategies that Humana employs to develop, advance and retain women of color within the company. Humana has set a goal to increase women and people of color in leadership roles to director level and above, and has set targets of 50% for women and 30% for people of color. Dr. Nwando Olayiwola, Chief Health Equity Officer, will participate in a panel on How Women of Color Support One Another at Work. During this session, Dr. Olayiwola will discuss the resources Humana dedicates to supporting employees, including mentorship and Humana’s award-winning Network Resource Groups. A full list of speakers and conference agenda can be found in this press release and on the conference website. Humana is proud to sponsor this event because the company recognizes the enormous contributions that women of color have made to its success, and the conference is a way to celebrate these women and uplift them.

“We are honored that Humana was chosen as host sponsor for the Women of Color and Their Allies conference and are excited to share this experience with the Louisville community and inclusion and diversity practitioners from across the country,” said Carolyn Tandy. “We’re thankful to DiversityInc for sharing this opportunity with us and for their tremendous partnership.”
