CenterWell Home Health announces 24 of its regional providers in 13 states earn 5-star ratings for quality of patient care from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Another 54 regional providers in 23 states receive 4.5-star ratings for quality of patient care. In addition, 35 regional providers attain 5-star ratings in patient satisfaction surveys.

2022 CMS ratings are based on prior year data. In August 2021, Humana acquired Kindred at Home to became the nation’s largest provider of in-home care. With the rebranding of its home health division, Humana finalized the launch of CenterWell Home Health in September 2022. CenterWell Home Health has approximately 240 care providers working across 38 states in more than 350 regional branches.

CenterWell Home Health delivers compassionate, high-quality in-home care services to patients, including skilled nursing care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, social work and disease management education.

“We are committed to clinical excellence and every 4.5 and 5-star rating is a testament to the team’s determination to deliver the highest quality of care. Being recognized as a top performer is an honor that we strive to achieve in every branch of CenterWell Home Health,” said Susan Benoit, President of CenterWell Home Health.

Quality of patient care ratings are based on Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) assessments and Medicare claims data measuring 7 aspects of care and patient outcomes: timely initiation of care, improvement in walking, improvement in a patient’s ability to get in and out of bed, improvement in bathing skills, improvement in shortness of breath, improvement of medication management and drug education provided to patient/caregiver and reduced acute care hospitalization.

Patient survey ratings are based on patient assessment of the professionalism of the home health team, quality of communication the team provided, including whether the team discussed medicines, pain and home safety with the patient, and an overall rating of the care received by the home health agency.

Star ratings for Medicare-certified agencies are available on Care Compare, a public CMS website that allows users to compare the assessed performance of multiple home health providers. Agencies are rated periodically – from one to five stars – with top performers earning the coveted 5-star rating.

We are pleased to reveal the 2022 CenterWell Home Health providers who received 4.5-star and 5-star ratings on quality of patient care, and providers who received a 5-star rating in patient satisfaction.
